Protein Sweets Opens Their First Phoenix Location
Casey started Protein Sweets the way many Phoenix food businesses start. He began his venture in a shared kitchen, sold at the farmers market on Saturdays and kept showing up. He just opened his first brick and mortar store on Bell Road in north Phoenix, and to celebrate, BLT Kitchens is buying one free item for every customer who stops by on Thursday, October 1, between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., no purchase required!
How Protein Sweets Got Its Start at BLT Kitchens
Before Protein Sweets, Casey worked as a performance coach, helping clients get healthier and cut back on sugar. His clients still wanted dessert, so he started making his own. The goal was simple: high-protein, sugar-free treats that don’t taste like a compromise.
As a long-time tenant, he grew the business out of BLT Kitchens, our shared commercial kitchen near 7th Street and Dunlap Avenue. Renting kitchen time gave him a licensed space to produce in real volume and test new recipes without the cost of building out his own kitchen. It’s the same setup bakers, caterers and meal prep companies use every day in our space.
Building a Following at the Uptown Farmers Market
On Saturdays, you’ll find Protein Sweets at the Uptown Farmers Market in Phoenix. Farmers markets give small food brands something that’s hard to get anywhere else, which is face time with customers. People try a sample, ask what’s in it, come back the next week and bring a friend.
That kind of steady growth added up. Today Protein Sweets ships nationwide, sells several products on Amazon and now has its first storefront.
What to Try at Protein Sweets
If you’ve never had Casey’s products, this event is a great time to start. The lineup includes:
- Protein donuts in cinnamon sugar and frosted sugar, with 6 grams of protein and 1 net carb each
- Cookie Crumble, a cookie dough style snack with 66 grams of protein per bag that also works as a yogurt topper
- PBC, a peanut butter cup cookie dough
- PB PRO, a sweet peanut butter dough with 140 grams of protein per jar
- SweetCinn, a sugar-free cinnamon sugar alternative
Everything is sugar-free and gluten-free, and the products are made to fit keto and diabetic-friendly diets. See the full lineup at Protein Sweets.

Why We’re Celebrating Casey
Seeing a business go from a prep table in our kitchen to its own storefront is the best part of running BLT Kitchens. Casey put in early mornings, market Saturdays and a lot of batches to get here. We’re proud to have been part of his first chapter, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.
We also want the community to see what’s possible. Casey didn’t start with a storefront. He started by renting kitchen time, selling at the market and growing one step at a time. A shared kitchen lets new food businesses do exactly that, with lower startup costs and room to scale when the demand is there.
